Reaganism is dedicated to exploring where the Reagan Movement lives today, hosted by the Director of the Ronald Reagan Institute, Roger Zakheim. The show has two goals: understand the foundations of the political philosophy that powered the Reagan Revolution; and host discussions about contemporary issues through the lens of Reagan. The podcast looks at the continuing impact of #40’s principles and beliefs on our leaders as they address the complex problems of today and tomorrow.

She previously served as the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy during the Trump Administration. In that position, she was the primary author of the landmark 2017 National Security Strategy. Given the Biden Administration’s publication of their own National Security Strategy last month, Roger and Nadia assessed the new strategy and compared the Trump Administration’s approach with the Biden Administration’s approach.

Roger and Scott discuss the story of a group of retired Green Berets who came together to save over 500 Afghans who were targeted by the Taliban in the midst of America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

He was a member of the U.S. delegation at the 1986 Reykjavik Summit between Reagan and Gorbachev, which he describes in his book, Reagan at Reykjavik. Roger and Ken discussed the summit and how it led, in Ken’s view, to the end of the Cold War.
