Deputy Secretary Hicks on the National Defense Strategy and FY23 Budget

Dr. Hicks’s address focuses on the Department’s recently-released unclassified summary of the National Defense Strategy—the guiding doctrine of U.S. defense policy and priorities—as well as the Fiscal Year 2023 budget request. Following her remarks, Dr. Hicks participated in a moderated conversation with Reagan Institute Director Roger Zakheim. What The World Needs Now with Senator Joni Ernst

On this episode, we are joined by Senator Joni Ernst. She was elected from Iowa in 2014 and is the first female combat veteran to serve in the U.S. Senate, after a distinguished career in the Army Reserve and in the Army National Guard.
